On March 25, 2015 members of the Georgian Bay Trails, and the Midland and Penetanguishene Trails & Active Transportation committees attended a very interesting “Trails & Accessibility” workshop hosted by the County of Simcoe and the Ontario Trails Council. Speakers presented the new IASR (Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation) for Recreational Trails, and the benefits and how to’s of complying with the new guidelines. The Corporation of the County of Simcoe acquired some additional lands in the Heart of Georgian Bay. The attached map shows the entire property, which consists of the Thompson, Charlebois and Martin’s Valley forest tracts. This is a very unique forest as it is located in three municipalities, i.e. Township of Tiny, Town of Penetanguishene and the Town of Midland.…
